Manali – Kullu valley

We proceed to Manali, en route we drive past the Beas Sutlej Link Project, Pandoh Dam. The Pandoh Dam is an embankment dam on the Beas River in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Under the Beas Project, the dam was completed in 1977. Beas Satluj Link Project went through several revisions for diverting the waters of Beas river.  Scenic Kullu Valley Kullu valley is amazing with such beautiful mountain scene and by eveningevening we arrived at Manali – gorgeous hill station located in the heart of snowy mountains.

There are many Hindu temples around the hills of Manali. We visit VashistKund – 4000 years old temple of Sage Vashista – sole Guru of Lord Ram and Laxman, located in a beautiful small village on east bank of Beas River, followed by visit to Hidimba Devi Temple – set in amidst the snow-covered hills of Manali, this temple is a unique shrine dedicated to Hidimba Devi.

Manali – Rohtang Road Snow Point

Today we had a spectacular drive  toRohtang Road Snow Point. We have free time to play in the snow and click pictures to our heart’s content. Rohtang pass is 51 kms away from Manali. This Pass is not accessible for almost 8 months in a year, as it is covered by snow. Tourists  generally visit the snow point on Rohtang road, which has been permitted by the Border Security Force. Snow clothes, jackets and gum boots are available on rent in the shops located on Rohtang Road.
